Wroclaw lies on the Odra riverside and four Odra River tributaries: Bystrzyca, Olawa, Widawa and Sleza. It’s one of the oldest and the most beautiful places in Poland. Wroclaw is the capital of the Lower Silesia region. This unusual town (also called Northern Venice) has 12 islands and 117 bridges. During the World War II, seventy percent of Wroclaw town’s buildings were destroyed. Luckily, some of the historical monuments were survived and renovated. Through it Wroclaw maintained its medieval atmosphere.
